Change could be stimulating and exciting. The fact that we can leave one state and move on to another is simply refreshing. It provides the opportunity for us to reset and erase our records. It fires up neurons and rewires our neural circuit, hence leading us to think and feel differently. In fact, adopting new perspectives and learning continuously are what rejuvenate us.
But changing could also be uncomfortable and painful. It involves letting go of something or someone that we are familiar with and entering an unchartered territory. The old may not serve us but at the very least, it appears to have certainty. So what really makes changing so challenging is the loss of control.
Sometimes, we would rather hold onto control than to have faith and allow life to take us on an adventure. Whether it is for the better or worse is something that is subjective and time-bound. In truth, there is really no better or worse but just experiences, though they may be what you need rather than what you wish. Crossing that bridge of change takes courage, but it is empowering and promises a payoff if one can remove judgement.
